Here is what I have

e-machine (11/29/03)
mo#T2882
Windows XP Home Edition
256 RAM (just added another 512 RAM)
80 GB Hard Drive

When I try to boot up I get an error message that reads:

We apologize for the incovenience, but windows did not start succesfull. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

It goes on to ask me if I want to boot up in:

Safe mode
Safe mode with Networking
Safe mode with Command prompt
Last Known Good Config
Start Windows Normally

No matter which option I try the system is just frozen. I press enter and nothing happen. I can press enter on any option and it will not do anything for hours.

I do have my system restore CD's however the system warns me that I will lose all files if I do this. Is there anything I can do before erasing everything???

Thanks for you help!!!
