I am not sure, but don't think Office 200 (or POwerPoint 2000) has any activation requirement.

I think you are referring to Activation of the program, which is required whenever it gets reinstalled after a reformat type event.
Registration is a voluntary action. Activation is required.

Office 2000 and subsequent versions required activation in some countries and areas only. Oceania was one that was subject to it.

Some versions of Office 2000 require activiation. My copy does. And the OP's copy appears to as well.
