I use windows 2000 pro, with SP-4 and all current updates. I connect to the net through dial up. It takes an extremely long time for my computer to handshake and register on the network, after username and password verification when i dial up to my isp (bellsouth). This delay can be upwards of three minutes from the time it verifies the username and password, up until authentication and connection. Does anyone know how i can speed this up, or what might have caused it to start acting in this manner? It has not always done this. Only in the last two weeks. Anyone ever seen this with win 2k? Thanks in advance for the help.
