My mom has Window 2000 and her homepage keeps being directed about:blank. This happened to me in the past and I have XP and all I did was restore my system to earlier in the day. How can she restore her system to an earlier date in Windows 2000?

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
definition updates and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Do these and reboot before the next step.

Then get HiJack This http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe - double click the DL file
And let it extract to its default folder C:\Program FIles\HiJackThis, run it from there, DO NOT fix anything, post the log here.

YOu may have gotten lucky as timing makes all the difference, but in any case it is good to fix the problem via HJT as you can get a view into some of the things that cause the problem and prevent it in the future

Since it sounds as you are in the middle get her to do this also
