Hello,

I've recently installed Windows 2000 on one of my other computers, I got over 90mb of drivers and patchs to get it going and I swapped the slave over with a different hard drive, Then when starting up it frooze on the Windows 2000 screen(the bit in bios with the eblem) It will freeze everytime unless i start it up in Safe Mode, Ive got Service Pack 4 and all the hotfixs. I know that wiping the Master works but I am needing a different way. Anymore information you need just ask and ill get it.

I think you have device conflict, so following the procedure for "How to Use Device Manager to Identify the Cause of the Startup Problem" should have helped.

the hd may be bad or if you're running two hd's, 1 slave, 1 master. you'll need a boot manager to select which one to boot into.

you can run the 1 hd as master or slave.

i only do sp4.

In reply to Dan-O thx but it didnt work thanks anyway

And the hard drives have been set up as 1 master 1 slave both in bios and the switch, I took out the slave and put in a different one set that up and it will only boot in safe mode.
