I was trying to install a Dell laser printer onto someones laptop with Windows 2000. Towards the end of the installation, the computer rebooted due to a bad battery and the AC was accidently unplugged. Now right when I get into Windows before the login screen, the computer just reboots and I can barely see a flash of a STOP BSOD error but don't have any time to read it. I can get into safe mode and do stuff. I tried reinstalling the software and drivers but it gives me an error. I can't uninstall anything because it doesn't see anything installed. What can I do? Its a USB printer BTW. This is sort of an emergency thanks.

Love my life!!

Could anyone at least help me out on how I can actually see this BSOD? Does the pause/break button do anything? What can I do to stop the computer from rebooting immediately following the BSOD?

when the pc is booting up , when you see the Windows 2000 splash screen and the status bar building at the bottom, you also will see at the bottom "for advanced startup options press f8"
press f8 and you will see a list of options, scroll down to <Last Known Good Configuration> follow the steps after that. lets see if that makes you pc stable again...if not we can try another method if you have the windows 2000 cd...

Well, I tried upgrading to SP4 in safe mode and I was able to. I rebooted and voila, fixed the problem.

Thanks, I tried that but it didnt work. I figured out how to get the system do not reboot after the BSOD. Here is the error:

STOP: c000021a (fatal system error)

The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000080 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
