Hey everyone,

I have created an issue tracking database to be used by our tech support team. I have split the database so all the information feeds into a new set of tables stored on a shared drive.

I have all the users setup with the Access Runtime files only and I am getting an error when the second person tries to go into the database and create a record. Is there another trick that I am missing? When I tested the database with another user with the full version of Access, we could both add records at the same time, so is this some kind of issue with Runtime? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

I looked in the datase options under tools-options-advances and shared mode is selected. Is there another place I should look or something I should check on the shortcut properties? Thanks for your help.

Ok, thanks..however, no my shortcut does not have the /excl flag on it. And since it opens fine for the rest of us, I don't undertand whay it won't work. The shortcuts are the same and the only difference is runtime vs full version.

Check that they are not opening the database in Exclusive Mode, this can happen when Desk Top Shortcuts are used.
