Hi,

I am designing a website in dreamweaver. Using a layer as the main frame around the webpage and then putting all the content inside this layer. Is there a way to have this layer move to the center of the browser if the person viewing it has their resolution set so the webpage is not filling up their screen. The only way I can get it to move to the center is by using a table around the whole thing but then the table will go to the center but any layer I have in the table is absolute and stays to the left side. Is there a way to use layers and make this work?

Thanks,

Jay

First of all...never ever put a layer in a table...very bad. Secondly, for compatibility always but everything in a layer in a table dimensioned to the width of the layer. =)

As for centering a layer...check out this here

I don't know if you've ever used dreamweaver extensions but there are some really great ones for working with layers.

for basics check out

and for some great extensions for layers check out

they have a great tutorial for doing drop downs and such with layers
