Ok, I am going to try to explain my botched attempt....

the original file was labeled index (which I "get" from the server) - the sub file was index.shtml; I modified it and saved as index.htm
(there is the orignal and the copy listed)

now when I try to preview in iexpolorer the errors are:

-cannot determine remote server time - the select newer & synchronize commands will not be available

- unable to create remote folder index/. 550 index permission denied

-TMpov14of2ave.htm cannot be put no such file or directory

Any ideas? I have been stumped... can you help??
Thanks

Could you let us have a look at the pages in question? As long as it's not a server side problem we can tell you what's wrong.

.shtml is usually a server side include extension. to view that i'm pretty sure that 1) you must have a web server installed 2) it must be set to process the server side include. for example, in apache you have to load the server side module. if your server is not set up for server side include then that is probably the reason you are getting the errors

I am having this same problem. I'm only getting the "cannot determine remote server time" error. I recently switched from PC to Mac and Studio MX uploads perfectly fine on the PC (I have the PC laptop pugged up right next to the Mac and it works fine), but not on the Mac. I have already read most of the technical references on Macromedia's site, I have tried both passive FTP (in both the system preferences & in DW), and without passive FTP (in both places). I have tried exporting the sites definition from the PC and loaded it into the Mac, and I have changed all the settings available in the "Edit Sites" area in DW. Is there anything I can do besides call Macromedia's $200 per incident tech support?

If there is no active content why is it attemting to time synch with a time server? It sounds like there is some stuff going on in that page that also isn't quite above board.....virus maybe or AciveX scripting
