hello. i'm working on a web site for a small arts foundation and we are in the process of reworking it completely. this is being done in dreamweaver 4 with mac osx. material is therefore being changed and added frequently, but my colleague - also working with mac osx - often finds that he gets the old content when he goes to preview changes to the site, live on the web. we've seen that there are sometimes problems with the cache of safari, but he is also checking with explorer and netscape, yet still gets this problem, despite emptying the caches, restarting the computer etc.
on one occasion we successfully tackled this by deleting the old material and reloading the site from scratch, but even that is not solving the problem now.
so i'm wondering if there is some very basic problem in the way i'm putting the site up... (only used dreamweaver so far and dont really use any html or other code).
any ideas would certainly be v much appreciated, thanks.

There is also an option in DW to synchronize local and remote files. It's a good idea to synch from the remote site to local before you start editing and publishing.

thanks for your replies - i should have been clearer: its only me who's actually working on the site - my colleague is providing creative and editorial input, but not himself making changes to it.
i work on the local copy of the site, and then upload.
cheers,

make sure that you and your colleague are working from the same folder location where the local files are stored.

this way, when one of you makes a change to a webpage, the other one will see the change as well.

Ask your host if they are caching the web content. You may also want to purge your local browser cache prior to doing any work on the web site.

One other thing, are you working on the files locally and then publishing them because it seems like one of the two of you may be working on a local copy.
