We had numerous viruses on our computer. Went to the experts to get fixed and now we cannot make the scanner run. Had the experts install Adware and PC cillin internet security and a new LG DVD player. It is an older scanner (Microtek Scanmaker Plus E3). The software (Photo Express) we are using does not see the scanner that is in parallel with the printer. When I run scanner test - I get the blue death screen saying SCSIPORT.sys is corupted or something Any help would be appreciated. Pat.

I finally got a reply from microsoft. There is a patch for this but in the mean time, I thought I would update from Microsoft website. Big mistake. I have 81 updates. When I did this I got another blue screen of death. Saying nv4.disp file stuck in infinite loop. 0x000000ea (0x82114a30, 0xffb9a130, 0xf8018cb4, 0x00000001. When this happened I just did a restore from a later date and things kinda seem OK not 100%. When the techs fixed my computer they revised to SP 2 which I think caused all the problems in the first place. Now I am reluctant to do anything - computer has slowed down considerably.
I do alot of travelling so replies will be longer than usual. Thanks.

Can you post the whole blue scree of death............to stop at blue screen before system reboots go into control panel then into system properties then into advanced tabs.....press start up and recovery button un check automatically reboot. Also the dumps are saved in a folder under windows called mindump.
