Edit follows.
However this article tells me about it.
From ths article I learn that each time I have changed my CMOS battery with the computer completely separated from the power source the BIOS has reverted to its default settings. But since the changes I had made within the BIOS over 7 years have been minor ones my computer has run well. To avoid all the changes which may be made I learn that the CMOS battery can be changed with the power (hydro or?) still connected but with the computer shut down. This will supply 5V standby power to the motherboard, and keep the CMOS memory energized. | Thanks.
