PLEASE HELP!
I have quicktime 6.5 fow windows (XP). I downloaded a game from a gamesite that requires QT 6.3 or earlier. I found downloads of 6.0 and 6.3 (and some earliers) on a few different websites, including apple. I download them, start the install, get almost to the end of the install when i get a message that says a newer install is available and this install will now stop, the newer install will then begin.......then it automatically installs 6.5 again. I cant stop it from doing that!
ANY IDEAS?????
i have been trying this for days!
I thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
take care,
froggirl1129

if you are still looking for older versions of quicktime try this. go to www.oldversion.com. you should be able to find the version you need. hope this helps you out.

i have already tried disconnecting from the internet before the update....doesnt work...tells me that i need an internet connection to continue....i dont think ctrl+alt+del will work because the install of the early program never completes before it switches over to the newer version. but hey...i will try anything at this point....
thanks for the suggestions.....please, if there are more, i will take them!
thanks again for everyones ideas and thoughts on this....keep 'em coming

Hi,

You might want to try quicktime alternative. It is much smaller than quicktime and works just as well. You can find it here:
