HELP!  I've got an Intel Server with an old onboard Cirrus Logic 5480 Video card.   I'm using W2k now, and i'm capturing DV into a Cinestream/EditDV.

The problem is that the older video card drivers, seem to not support the latest version of DirectX (v8), which is required by the app.

Apparently Cirrus Logic no longer makes Graphics cards, and claims to no longer support them either (on their site).  I can't seem to find any updated drivers for this card - and I can't install a new card - as I am limited on PCI slots.

Does anyone have newer drivers for this card ( I have v5.0.2184.1)?  Or does anyone know where I can get them?  Or perhaps another solution?  I'm open to ideas.

Thanks,

Logan Huh

It appears that the latest driver for that video card is probably already included with Win2k Server.

You may want to look into getting a separate system to do the video capture on.  Most servers are not designed to be workstations.  They are supposed to be the system that no one has to touch unless something breaks.  You can find a decent desktop system to do the video capture on for less than $1000 and you will probably be more pleased with the results.   If you need the extra horsepower of multiple processors then you will probably want to look into a Workstation class system.
