I am trying to find a driver for my windows 98 SE OS for a IBM network printer 17. I did find one but it seems to be a DOS file and I haven't a clue what to do with it. I went to the IBM site and tried to down load the driver and it appears not to function. It (the link points to a FTP address, but nothing happens when I click on it.) The add printer functions has the printer listed but the driver is not on the Win 98 Se CD I have. Searching thru the CD leads me to a URL (microsoft ) that no longer functions. Going to the Microsoft website and I found  "find any drive ryou wan tin three clicks" did it . leads me right back to the IBM site!

Click on the down loaded file icon produces a DOS window labled finished on the top and has the following in the window:

W95SA_EN.EXE: [d:] outpath [/Q] [/D] [/V]

outpath -the destination for the file

/Q -quiet
/D -Create Directory
/V -crfeat volume label

Huh??

can this be of use to me, where else can I look for a driver for this printer?

Try clicking this link to download the drivers.  If that doesn't work then right click it and try 'save target as'.  These are the driver files from the IBM website.

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/printers/drivers/netwrk/mono/w95cm_en.exe

I was able to download the file without any problems by clicking on the link.  If you are still unable to download it then reply back and I will see if I can find another way to get the file for you.

Thanks,

Mike
