I just do not know where to begin with the list of problems i have on my computer.
I have Windows Me Millennium Edition.
Here goes the list,

1. Media Player 9 is not working it opens up then when you go 2 play a song it freezes, previous 2 realising it wont play any songs i noticed it had wiped all my songs from 'my libray'
2. Microsoft Word opens and has the cursor flashing but will not type.
3. There's no sound, the speakers are on but there is no sound.
4. After saying 'Shut Down' all the desktop icons disappear but thats it. it 'freezes' and wont shut down.
5. MSN messenger will not open.

Luckily the internet is working, but that is about it.
Its making me depressed as i have so much coursework 2 do, im getting so behind in my studies cause the computer is not working and i cannot afford a new one.

do you have system restore enabled - if so try restoring to before you had the problem

Thanks 4 replying, sadly i cannot restore to a date when it was working. Here goes the story...

I was trying 2 restore it but it was not doing it so i searched around on the internet and found that i needed to download something extra/new from Windows website for restore to work. So i downloaded it and sure enough it did restore successfully however after downloading this new thing it could only restore to that date, it had 'wiped' all the other restore points previous to the new download thing.
So the restore was useless but least i know it works now so when i fix the computer i can create a new restore point.

So please anyone anymore advice would be sooooooo muchly appreciated all the list of problems are all above on another post. if u cant find them i'll have to type them out again.
I just want 2 smash this computer but then i wont even have the internet so maybe i should just try and be patient.
