The new AVG 7.5 is not available for Wins 98 and AVG no longer supports AVG 7.1. I had purchased the full ZoneAlarm 6.1 in '96, but now ZA no longer supports Wins 98. (I can't remember but then I don't think the new free ZA is available for Wins 98.) This is now my spare system that I use once in awhile and it seems to be running fairly well. So I'm just wondering if these old programs are still good enough to use without any updates, or is there other free antivirus and firewall software that I could install on Wins 98.

I just installed AVG 7.5 on a computer with Win98 on Friday. Unless something changed since then it should still work.

I had the samething happen to my moms computer, what I had to do was completely unistall it from add/remove programs and then go to the site and install the free edition

Yep... AVG 7.5 is installed, updated and running on my Win98SE system. I'm still running ZA 6.1. Anyone had any problems with that?
