We have a Gateway Pentium 4 with Windows ME.
We are having big problems. My husband found a virus on the computer using the antivirus and since then problems everywhere. Last night we couldnt even get on to our bank site, they said they had blocked us.
We are having freezing problems, computer very slow.
Also our All-In-One Hp psc2410 oxi photosmart printer is having problems suddenly
The computer will not read the memory card when we try to load digital pictures on to the computer. It keeps telling us printer is not connected (is connected)

I tried using Panda online scan at someones suggestion. It informed us that it had found a problem under hacking tools rootkits. It scans a little further, then freezes at:

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".


I would suggest you remove your printer and after restarting the machine try installing it again.

Thank you so kindly for your help. I have deleted those mentioned.

We did run an extra virus scan using Avast and it found a bug called
win32 ctx. We followed the removal instructions and it seems to have did the trick.

If you would not mind too much, I have just posted a question in the Do It Yourself forums.
We are looking to update our computer and could really use some knowledgeable advice.
