The Kodak Imaging program in Win95 and Win98 can be used to scan multi-page documents and then sent by your fax program. I use Microsoft Fax, W98. This is described in "A Few Scanning Tips" Part 5 at www.scantips.com. If anyone is using this with success, I'd like to learn how to get it working.

Confirm you removed Imaging in Windows Setup and rebooted. Then you should be able to install imaging using the Windows CD through Windows Setup. If you removed imaging and rebooted I have no idea why it wont reinstall it.

If you do much multi-page faxing you might want to consider this: http://www.directdeals.com/product.asp?id=283 For $11 plus about $5 shipping you can have the best fax program available.

His instructions are pretty simple and work well for scanning multiple files into Imaging. I dont use MS Fax but was able to print to fax without any problem from Imaging to WinFax Pro. I guess you know to go File>Print and select MS Fax after you have the multiple scans in Imaging.

You must be having problems with your MS fax setup. You could have a look here: http://www.mcfedries.com/books/cigwin98/faxing.asp

I don't seem to have the option of clicking on "Apply" because it is greyed out.

To Slipe, Thanks for your help and also flynstone. I did get Imaging reinstalled after rebooting but still no "joy".

Apparently something is interfering with Imaging; several months ago when I tried using it and the scanner my computer would freeze up. It no longer does that but it still won't work so I will order the WinFax software you mentioned, the price is certainly right.

Thanks for your reply. My problem appears to be with the Kodak Imaging program because when I try to print directly to my ink jet Lexmark printer the result is the same as with attempting a fax using Microsoft Fax--nothing prints except a solid black bar across the top of the paper.

I can successfully send a fax using Microsoft Fax and Scan Suite which came with my Microtek scanner but this is single page fax sending. I may need a rundown on the step by step sequence in using Imaging to scan multi-pages and printing to the fax printer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the uninstall-reinstall at Add-Remove - Accessories and after installing the W98SE CR-ROM I get a message stating that file ImageVue.inf on W98SE CD can not be found. I assume that is causing my problem.

Destination file: C:\Windows\inf\ImageVue.inf=precopy2 cab

When following this path I did locate an icon for ImageVue.inf but I would not know how to resolve this missing file problem.

I used the step by step at Scantips and it worked fine. If you get the multiple documents in Imaging and print to fax it is all you can do. Since it wont print to your printer either you might consider using Add/Remove Programs>Windows Setup to remove and reinstall Imaging it is under Accessories.

Put your Windows CD in your drive.
After you have put the tick in Accessories/Imaging in Windows Setup just click on Apply (not Have Disk). It should install.
