I'm told that I have corruption in the registry of a Win98 SE system and that simply reinstalling Windows will only reinstall Windows over that problem; the only fix is a clean reinstall.

Being that this is an old computer, my big concern is finding the important drivers associated with the peripherals on this computer. I'm told that drivers aren't automatically placed in a driver file but could be anywhere in the computer, further, they may not be named for easy identification.

I can look at the components inside the case and get the serial numbers. I believe I have to CD for the video card but the question is what is a good website that offers drivers in case I need to download some.

Thanks,

Mark

you can try going to the website for the brand of your computer and type in your model number and see if there are any drivers available for download.
