It won't hurt to look around at the settings available. When done, you have the option to leave saving changes or leave without saving changes (which means that anything you may have changed will not have any affect). So there is a safety margin built in.

OK. What memory does the game require? If more than 8, and most games probably would need more than that, you will need a better card. The SiS 620 has its memory onboard, if I remember correctly, so you can't increase the amount by sharing system RAM, but it wouldn't hurt to look for such a setting in BIOS.

thanks for the comeback on my problem, but I don't think getting in the bios is something I want to get into, never tried it and I understand you can really mess things up in there. or is there a step by step way of doing that?

Get a card with more video memory, or if it is shared memory, try to increase the available amount in BIOS setup.

What display adapter do you have and how much memory (available in Display properties)?

If there is no message on boot about what keys to press to get in, you will need to provide some details on your system so we can try to tell you.

Or, check this BIOS Access Guide.

A good video card for older desktops like you and I have is the ATI Radeon 7000 with 64 MB of video memory. You can get one at a computer store, such as CompUSA or Best Buy, for about $50.00.
