My wife's pc is an old wheezer with WinME, and IE 5.5. I'd like to update IE to something newer. Maybe IE6 (that may be the newest IE version compatible with Win ME)??

To update, do I simply find, download, and install the update?

Does the update take care of my IE5.5 version, or do I need to uninstall it prior to installing IE6? Or, can they both coexist peacefully on the hard drive?

Does the update screw up anything on the pc--like email in OE?

Rbigg-make sure you have version 5.5. The WinME disk shipped with version 5 but you must have 5.5 for version 6 to load properly. I reloaded my WinME from disk and went nuts trying to get IE6 to work until advised here to go thru the intermediate step of loading ver 5.5 before version 6.-- Something to remember if you ever have to reload WinME from scratch.
