I have had to install a new hard drive and I'm now trying to recover files from an Internet Backup Service called Carbonite.

There would appear to be some connection problems, this is the error message:

"Something is not allowing Carbonite to communicate with our servers. Carbonite needs to have a clear connection to port 443. Rebooting the modem usually takes clear of this. Your email file is not gone it has not been restored"

I have a cable connection and all I have is the original installation CD but it does not mention how to reboot a modem.

Neither do I understand how to give a "clear connection to port 443".

Could anyone help please?
