We have 2 computers with VISTA Home Premium installed. My husband and I have some of the same software but also different software from each other. When I go to My Computer and right click on the C drive to review the properties, I get the message that Explorer has stopped working (both machines). Then it restarts, clears all the icons from the desktop and then puts the icons back and we are back at the beginning. I can right click on the 2 DVD drives that are on each computer and I get what I want. I put a flash drive in a USB port and got the same message. My computer has a floppy drive and I get the message there also. The computer man who assembled our computers (from our specs) has no answer for me. Is this a VISTA progblem with a fix coming soon? OR, where do I go from here?

I have seen the behaviour you describe when an external drive is attached. Disconnect the drive and the problem goes away. Also, the problem seems to be USB port related as this does not happen on all portsd. Weird.

No, its not a "Vista problem", I would suggest that some of the critical drivers used are not Vista compatible as a starting point.
