Step 1: Disable Active Desktop

1. Click Start, click Run and type "DESK.CPL" (without quotation marks) and click OK.
2. Go to the Desktop tab in the Display Properties window.
3. Click the Customize Desktop button.
4. Go to the Web tab in the open window.
5. Uncheck all items which are listed in Web pages section.
6. Click OK.
Please restart the computer to test the issue.
Step 2: Delete items in Active Desktop

7. Click Start, click Run and type "DESK.CPL" (without quotation marks) and click OK.
8. Go to the Desktop tab in Display Properties window.
9. Click Customize Desktop button.
10. Go to the Web tab in the open window.
11. Please delete all items except for My Current Home Page in the Web pages section. To do so, we can choose it and then click the Delete button. Click OK.
12. Click OK and restart the computer to test the issue.
Step 3: Use Cwshredder Remove Tool

I recommend we use the Cwshredder tool to check the issue.

Please save the download file in C:\ path.
1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple Operating Systems, you can press the F8 key when you see the boot menu.
2. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter.
3. Log onto Windows by using the Administrator account or any user account with the Administrator privileges.
NOTE: The password is blank by default unless you have already set a password. In Safe Mode, your system display and Desktop will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary. To return the system back to Normal Mode, we can simply restart the computer.
Then please open My Computer and go to the C: disk drive. After finding the cwshredder.exe file, please double-click it to run the tool. Then please use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.
